Update

Things have been hectic to say the least.

On a personal note, my good news is that I am now a mother of three. My little girl was born on 2nd October weighing 8lb 6oz. She is of course, absolutely gorgeous!  The pregnancy was a difficult one and it is such a relief to finally have it over. Much of my time has been spent looking after the baby, resting a little and  helping the family adjust to the new addition -all of which has meant that e.mails, pictures, thank-you’s and this website has been neglected.  Over the next few days I hope to catch up, everyone’s help and support is truly appreciated and I’m sorry for the delay.

So first off here are pictures of donations that were received at the very end of September-

A gorgeous selection of baby cardigans, two crochet blankets and a scarf from Carole in Southampton.

A complete wardrobe of new girly clothes from Alice.

A collection of stripe jumpers and colourful teddies from CSV

Now that the Summer is over the Otley knitters are back in full swing! They sent a huge variety of colourful hats, jumpers, scarves and blankets.

And lastly, a parcel from an anonymous donor- lovely fleece hooded capes, slippers a jumper and some trousers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make such lovely things.

There are a stack of parcels that are waiting to be opened so more pictures will be posted up soon.

The ladies at Loving Hands

Over the past week boxes upon boxes of donations have been arriving from the ladies at Loving Hands. As you may have come to expect everything is of course, just fabulous!

I take pictures of all items that are donated and usually post them here for all to see.  The loving hands donations are no exception but this latest batch has created a total of 35 pictures and I think that is just a lttle too many to post here so instead I have just given a taster. ( If anyone does want to see the full album then I would be happy to e.mail it. )

A treasure trove of goodies were sent including blankets, towels, cardigans, jumpers, hats, toys, a mountain of sanitary towels for ‘project washables’ , dresses, t.shirts …………….the list is endless.

For those of you who don’t already know ‘Loving Hands’ is a charity which knits, sews and crafts beautiful things for a variety of projects and causes, more information can be found at www.lovinghands.org.uk

Once again, A huge thank you to the team at Loving Hands.

Another hat to try

mesh hat

Here is another hat for you to try.

The pattern is for newborn size but it wouldn’t be too difficult to make it for an older baby.

Its a simple knit using just knit and purl stitches but the mesh pattern at the bottom adds a pretty effect. The pattern can be found on the ‘my free patterns page’ under ‘mesh hat’ if you find any errors please let me know and I will make amendments.

Not just hand-crafted

Of course it is always wonderful to see clothes and blankets that have been lovingly made by hand, however donations of all types are needed and gratefully accepted. This little bundle of baby clothes came from a friend who lives in London, so a big thank-you to her!

It seems that clothes for babies and young children are in most demand but items are given to older children too. Clothes do not need to be new but they should be clean and in good repair.

More goodies

On Friday I received another package of wonderful donations.

When this lady contacted me she said “I’m not the best knitter in the world” well, these girlie cardigans are just adorable especially the wrap around ones.   It was also lovely to get a complete blanket and the hats are really useful right now. Thank you so much.

For those of you who really are not very good at knitting your donations are still very much needed and appreciated.
