It has been a long time since I’ve posted here. It wasn’t meant to be that long of an absence but well, quite a bit has happened.
Firstly, I made an impromptu trip to Algiers with my family. My father in law is terminally ill with cancer and kept requesting to see my children so we went and stayed for 6 weeks. It was wonderful to be in Algeria again- fabulous weather, delicious food, family visits …………and of course to see first hand the families who Algerian Action help. It was also an excellent opportunity to discuss with the officialdom the other ways the charity could help those in need.
Due to pregnancy for the last 5 months or so I have not been well. For those long time followers, you will know that my anaemia gets much worse in pregnancy and everything becomes so much more difficult to do. My baby boy was born full term on 19th Septemember but, he died at birth. There was a knot in the cord, apparently something that does happen although rare. I am now just concentrating on getting myself healthy again.
After being ‘away’ for a while I am now trying to catch up with the work of Algerian Action. I have an inbox full of emails to reply to and a batch of thank you notes to write- Please bear with me. To help manage with the arrival of donations I have arranged with Royal Mail to keep parcels and then deliver them at a later date, it would seem from some of your comments and messages this hasn’t always been happening as some parcels have been returned. I have no idea why this is happening but, I have contacted Royal Mail and am awaiting their response.
I will update shortly about the family living in a shack, the success of our Eid project and our exciting plans for the future. For the moment, I just want to say thank you all so much for your kindness.
A very small selection of some of the fabulous donations that have been received recently. Thank you so much!
